Wolverines’ boys track team excels at Winter Relays

PHARR — The PSJA Memorial Early College High School Wolverines boys track & field team ran at the annual Winter Relays held at PSJA Stadium this past weekend. Leading the charge to a third-place finish was sophomore Cruz Gomez.

Gomez ran a second leg behind Javier Cardoza in the four-mile relay. He was scheduled to run third leg but fell behind by over a 100 meters. His coach moved him at the last second to second leg, and Cruz responded by passing everyone and giving the team a 100-meter lead going into the third and fourth legs.
