Go, Serena

By G. Romero Wendorf

Alongside Wimbledon, in Tennis, the U.S. Open is my favorite tournament to watch. And if I had to pick between the two, the U.S. Open wins the race. Its hard surface is faster than the grass at Wimbledon. I have few fond memories of Wimbledon, thanks in large part to John McEnroe. The temper tantrum boy always arguing with the ref, giving a bad name to the Yanks, he seldom made us look good. I wanted to hire a plane to pull a banner high above the England stadium whenever he played, which read: “All Americans don’t act this bad.”
