TEODORO DE LA ROSA
Teodoro De La Rosa, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg to reunite with his beloved wife and family. Born in Pharr, Mr. De La Rosa had lived in San Juan most of his life. He was a proud WWII Veteran and Cursillista. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Belia De La Rosa; a son, Juan De La Rosa; three sisters, Dolores Tanguma, Juanita De La Rosa, Carolina Garza; two brothers, Gregorio De La Rosa and Guadalupe De La Rosa. Teodoro is survived by four children, Juanita (Ruben) Guerra of San Juan, Rolando (Enedelia) De La Rosa of Alamo, Roberto (Olga) De La Rosa of Pharr, Lupita (Gilbert) McFarland of Taylor, PA; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ruben De La Rosa of San Juan; two sisters, Josefina Cavazos, Oralia Alaniz, both of San Juan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors were conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
