One of two defendants pleads guilty to murder of pregnant Edinburg teen Assistant DA: “…a beautiful young woman”

After striking a deal with prosecutors, Benjamin Hernandez, the main man responsible for the August 2013 brutal murder of a 19-year-old pregnant teen, pleaded guilty to the crime Monday inside state district court. The plea bargain means that Hernandez will be eligible for parole one day and he won’t ever have to face the lethal-injection gurney inside Huntsville. But he’s still going away for “a very long time,” according to Assistant District Attorney Michelle M. Puig.
