MARIA EVA CAVAZOS

EDINBURG – Maria Eva Cavazos, 65, died Tuesday, May 4, 2017 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her mother, Paula Meza Carrillo. Eva is survived by her husband, Marco A. Cavazos Sr.; two sons, Marco Aurelio Cavazos Jr., Franco Alexandro Cavazos; a daughter, Carissa Vianney Cavazos; numerous cats and dogs; her father, Filiberto Carrillo-Lule; her step mother, Lucia Carrillo; three brothers, John Carrillo, Lupe Carrillo, Adam Carrillo; three sisters, Lucy Romero, Dr. Emma Carrillo, Rosi Menendez; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Eva was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt and friend. She was so dedicated to her profession as a teacher for more than 30 years. Her students meant the world to her. Eva always said that it was Pre-K that made the most difference in a child’s life. We honor her life, she will always be in our hearts. We ask for your prayers. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Jesus is the only way to reach heaven. He is the true light. She is home now. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
