PHARR — Maria Estela Montemayor, 99, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Brigido Montemayor; three children, Jesus Guadalupe Montemayor, Carolina Montemayor, Laura Estela (†Rodolfo) Rendon; and a grandson, Marcos Raul Lozano. Mrs. Montemayor is survived by two sons, Brigido E. (Eulalia) Montemayor, of McAllen, Jorge Luis (Rosa) Montemayor, of Baytown; five daughters, Rosa Alicia (Aquiles) Treviño, Esperanza (†Hernan) Garza, both of McAllen, Maria Antonia (Alfredo) Lucero, of Mexico, Leticia Montemayor, of Pharr, Coty (Marcos) Lozano, of San Juan; 32 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, November 16, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Liberty Temple in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
