McALLEN – Linda Sue Hunter, 58, died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Born in Muncie, Indiana, she had lived in McAllen for 20 years and was a member of Alamo Community Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Eugene Smith. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband, Samuel S. Hunter, of McAllen; two children, Melinda Sue Hunter (Mark) Martinez, of Pharr, Joshua Hunter, of McAllen; five grandchildren, Anthony Lee and Nathaniel Martinez, Zachary Lee, Samantha Marie and Jacob Xavier Hunter; six sisters, Shirley, Viola, Debbie, and Rosemary, all of Kentucky, Barbara, of Florida, Teresa, of Indiana; and a brother, Robert Smith, of Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, July 28, 2014, at Alamo Community Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
