Sex harassment allegations lead to police chief’s departure

ALTON – Alton’s a growing city, running on all eight cylinders, but for some reason, occasional problems keep popping up inside the police department. Just recently, Nov. 10, 2017, City Manager Jorge Arcaute released this public statement:
“Effective today, 11-10-2017, Enrique Sotelo has been terminated as Chief of Police for the Alton Police Department. Three weeks ago a police department employee filed a sexual harassment complaint against Chief Sotelo. A thorough investigation involving interviews of all department
