CATALINA HINOJOSA
PHARR – Catalina Hinojosa, 92, died Sunday, February 26, 2017, at San Juan Nursing Home. Born in San Javier, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she had lived in Pharr most of her life. Catalina is remembered for her strong faith in God and the love and kindness she imparted on her family and many children she cared for during the years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Hinojosa; her parents, Antonio and Ventura Hinojosa; two brothers, Jesus Hinojosa and Fernando Hinojosa; three sisters, Felisa, Ninfa and Petrita Hinojosa. Mrs. Hinojosa is survived by her two daughters, Mirta Hinojosa Ahrens of Euless, Texas, Eliamar Hinojosa of McAllen; two sons, Robert (Laura) Hinojosa, of Austin, Texas, Armando Hinojosa of Pharr; four grandchildren, Andrea (Derek Sivils) Hinojosa, Bobby (Kristen) Hinojosa, and Erika (Mario) Gonzalez, all of Austin, Matthew Allen Ahrens of Euless, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Julian Gonzalez and Nikolas Sivils. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, Feb. 27, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
