JAVIER "MR. RADIO" MARTINEZ
PHARR - Javier Martinez, 69, died Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Paulita Martinez; a brother, Carlos Martinez; two sisters, Maria Garza and Florinda Balderas. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Maria Del Rosario Martinez of Pharr; two sons, Javier (Lyssette) Martinez, Jr. of Edinburg, Heron (Roxanne) Martinez of Pharr; two daughters, Diamantina (Ralph) Pena of La Joya, Veronica (Joshua) Mata of San Antonio; 11 grandchildren, Javier III, Ojay, Nicholas, Jared, Michael, Emiliano, Lauren, Meagan, Sophia, Alejandro and Olivia; three brothers, Rodrigo Martinez, Rodolfo Martinez, both of Pharr, Juan Garza of Edinburg; five sisters, Dora Silva of Pharr, Florencia Mora, Nora Villarreal, both of San Juan, Aracelia Barrientos of Penitas, and Blanca Garza of Pharr. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
