DONNA – Raquel H. Barocio, 69, died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. She was born in Donna and live there most of her life. Raquel is preceded in death by her parents, Victor Hooks and Belen Muñoz Hooks; two sisters, Anita Hooks Prado, Lily Ansiso; four brothers, Benito Hooks, Felipe Hooks, Federico Hooks, and Pablo Hooks. She is survived by her husband, Lazaro C. Barocio, Sr. of Donna; four children, Lina (Ruben) Mendez of Mission, Yvonne Molina of Donna, Lazaro Barocio, Jr. of Devine, Fernando (Marylou) Barocio of McAllen; ten grandchildren, Andrew Molina, Matthew Molina, Jonathan Molina, Isaac Barocio, Promise Barocio, Troy Barocio, David Ochoa, Giovanni Ochoa, Brittany Huerta, Thomas Huerta; one great-grandson, Sebastian Gonzalez; two sisters, Rebecca Hooks, Ida Hooks Engebretson. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral Service are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
