They think they'll be finished by October of next year. That's the date Parks & Recreation chief Mike Hernandez offered McAllen city commissioners Monday night as they talked about the youth baseball complex McAllen voters approved in 2013. Actually, what voters approved was borrowing $15 million in the bond market to build the baseball diamonds, something to which Mayor Jim Darling referred during the discussion when he said "We issued debt that we're paying interest on."
