Let the fight begin

Step aside Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., we got a real fight on our hands: the Hidalgo County Healthcare District vote in November has arrived, thanks to the filing of a petition Monday by a political action committee (PAC): Healthy Hidalgo County.
The petition only needed the names of 50 registered voters for the item to get placed on the November ballot, but instead, it contained the signatures of 168 people, all of whom are presumably Hidalgo County registered voters.
During a previous interview with The Advance News Journal, County Judge Ramon Garcia asked that we make it plain that the county commission is staying neutral on this matter, but by law, has no choice but to place it on the November ballot if indeed at least 50 names prove legit.
