Pharr’s mayor pro tem charged with DWI, weapons violation

By G. Romero Wendorf

PHARR – If you’re arrested by the DPS, or any law enforcement agency for that matter, and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated), and you have a gun in your possession at the time, you know it’s going to be a bad day. If you’re an elected official, multiply your definition of “bad day” by at least a factor of 10.

If you’re a private citizen, your transport to the county jail subsequent to the arrest will most likely fly under the media’s radar unless your alleged drunk-driving arrest involves a serious accident.
