There's a new killer on the loose. It began in China due to efforts to increase the food supply for the country's massive population. Antibiotics added to animal feed wiped out most bacteria but cleared the field for a resistant strain known as MCR-1 to develop and multiply. That strain is now slowly spreading around the world through tourists and exported animals. It's reached Denmark in infected chickens.
