For years, city had a hospital, then it didn’t, now it has a 24/7 ER Center

Rio Grande Regional offers San Juan 24/7 care

The old white downtown San Juan Hospital just a block south of Hwy 83, west side of Nebraska, is gone now, razed to the ground, to be replaced by a new city hall (next year); but at least the city no longer lacks acute emergency care, thanks to last week’s opening of Rio Grande Regional Hospitals 24-hour Emergency Care Center.

Open 365 days a year, the new ER Care Center offers a free-standing emergency room to city of San Juan residents and those from surrounding communities. This new 24-Hour Emergency Care Center is an important step for ensuring those in the community have access to emergency care, according to Rio Grande Regional CEO Cris Rivera.

Located at 200 East Expressway 83 in San Juan, the new 11,000 square-foot free standing ER is staffed with board-certified emergency room physicians and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, according to information provided by Rio Grande Regional.
