Trump landing in McAllen Thursday

Unless things change, according to several McAllen Airport sources, President Trump is set to land in McAllen at approximately 12:30 p.m. and depart approximately three hours later.

Instead of the Boeing 747 officially labeled Air Force One, the president will be flying onboard the Boeing 757, which is typically labeled Air Force Two unless the president is aboard when its air traffic control call sign changes to Air Force One. It’s also about half the size of the customized 747.

The Boeing 757 airplane, by the way, is the same model Trump has used as his own corporate airplane before winning the presidency. He bought it from now-deceased Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 2011 and gave it the famous Trump makeover (think gold; lots and lots of gold). During his campaign, he even said that he would replace the Air Force 747 with his own 757, which didn’t turn out to be the case. Even a billionaire’s Boeing 757 can’t come close to the 4,000 square-foot Boeing 747, which includes a medical space capable of housing surgery. Boeing, by the way, has been the aircraft manufacturer flying U.S. presidents around the globe beginning with FDR.
