SAN JUAN – Face it, I wouldn’t make a good cop. Anger-management issues. A hair-trigger temper when I get mad. Quick to jump.
Let’s say I ever made it to the rank of sergeant. Doubtful, but for the sake of the argument, let’s say I got the promotion. So one night, I’m on patrol, and I hear over the radio that some 19-year-old guy had just sucker-punched one of my officers in the back of the head while he was leading a runaway teen out of the kid’s bedroom, and then he tried to wrest from the officer’s hands the can of pepper spray he was trying to use to defend himself. Obviously, I’d already be a little steamed when I rolled up to the scene.
I hate sucker-punchers.
To make matters worse, the teen who had just allegedly sucker punched my officer in the back of the head is standing in the parking lot, cuffed, cursing up a storm, throwing insults at cops, including me as I arrive.
