A new Wendorf arrives

One good thing about owning a newspaper is you can put what you want on the front page. This week, what I (actually we since my wife is really the boss) decided to put on the front page is the birth announcement of our new granddaughter, little Robin Marie.
Around The Advance, my wife and I like to joke that everything always seems to happen on a Tuesday, which is this newspaper’s deadline day. If there’s an important press conference to cover, or some late-breaking news story, or some unexpected occurrence at work or at home, it will always happen on a Tuesday. Guaranteed. So when do you think little Robin Marie decides to come into the world? Tuesday morning, of course, at approximately 1:30 a.m.
What seems so odd is that it seems as if it was just yesterday that we were bringing home our son from the old Edinburg Hospital on Freddy Gonzalez back in February 1987. And now, 29 years later, during the same month, albeit not the exact same day, we are blessed again with a new arrival.
