San Juan’s $8.5 M project doubles water plant capacity

San Juan celebrated the groundbreaking of an $8.5 million project last week that will secure water — one of the most basic needs — for residents and businesses alike. The city is doubling the size of one of its two water treatment plants currently in operation, said city engineer Ronnie Cruz, P.E. of Cruz-Hogan Consultants Inc. San Juan city leaders, along with representatives from the Texas Water Development Board, Texas Descon and the San Juan Economic Development Corporation, gathered at the San Juan Library Sept. 22 to mark the project’s first sign of development.
