Pharr audit shows losses
By G. Romero Wendorf
PHARR -- It’s clear from talking to people here, both current and former city officials, that everyone wants to move forward and get on their lives, whether they’re in politics or out of politics. No one wants a re-occurrence of the negativity associated with last year’s municipal election. So why does the past keep rearing its head?
Because of a current city audit, which was released April 18 to the Pharr Economic Development Corporation (PEDC). The figures don’t look good, according to Pharr Mayor “Amos” Hernandez, but this isn’t about re-hashing the past, it’s about “owning” the present and figuring out where to go from here.
