Little money for Valley roads

TxDOT’s new transportation plan

Whatever Valley lawmakers are doing to convince the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) that Valley roadways need help in easing traffic congestion doesn’t seem to be working. Not if one considers the new 10-year plan it recently released.
 
If you love sitting in long lines of traffic, TxDOT’s new $70 billion 2017 Unified Transportation Program is for you. You’ll have plenty of time to play Pokemon GO while waiting for that long traffic line to move another inch.
 
If long lines of traffic backed up isn’t your thing, well, you won’t be pleased that the $70 billion only offers $1 billion in road improvements for the entire four counties that comprise the Rio Grande
