I’m currently at odds with my doctor all because the U.S. Surgeon General is an idiot.
I use pain meds to battle chronic pain, and he wants to limit my access to them.
If he were suffering from chronic pain, my guess is his attitude would be slightly different.
But at the age of 39, he still enjoys good health, so it’s obviously hard for him to relate. When I was 39, I had no idea what chronic pain felt like either.
According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse, approximately 88,000 people die annually from alcohol-related causes.
But rather than going after the booze industry, the Surgeon General is going to war against prescription pain meds (opioids), because approximately 165,000 people have died from overdosing on them over the course of 15 years: from 1999 and 2014.
