Javelinas catch fire offensively to overcome Grulla Gators, 41-31

The PSJA Southwest Javelinas used a powerful offensive attack to erase a 21-6 first half deficit and outlast the Grulla Gators 41-31 in a non-district battle at Rio Grande City Thursday night. The Javelinas scored two touchdowns late in the second period to achieve a 21-21 halftime tie. A crucial play occurred when Southwest missed a field goal with 11 seconds left in the first half, but a personal foul penalty against the Gators gave the Javelinas another chance at the Grulla 4. One play later, the Javelinas scored a touchdown and then ran for the two-point conversion that tied the game.
