Federer continues to amaze
He almost won Wimbledon
The great tennis marvel Roger Federer: Twenty Grand Slam singles titles, the most in history for any male player. He almost won Wimbledon this year, but I have a feeling he’ll win the U.S. Open next month.
His overall record is 1,222 to 265. It’s like Superman donned a pair of white shorts. Besides, we share a birthday, Aug. 8, so what’s not to love.
Do I miss the old days of watching Bjorn Borg, winner of 11 Grand Slam singles titles, Guillermo Vilas, Ilie Nasase? Yes. Borg’s coolness was, well, very cool to behold. If he ever lost his temper, I never saw it. His problem had to do with bad choice of women.
