EDINBURG - That’s what the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is starting to say as they eye an opportunity to get to the NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament – aka the Big Dance – later this month.
The Vaqueros dropped their regular-season finale to California Baptist University (CBU) 82-79 in overtime last week at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
All of that, however, is in the past. UTRGV (18-15, 9-7 WAC) will open the WAC Tournament on at 4:30 p.m. against CSU Bakersfield at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The winner will face the winner of top-seeded New Mexico State and eighth-seeded Chicago State in the semifinals at 8 p.m. Friday.
