Delgado and his nemesis, Noe Perez, now share same Sept. sentencing date
Noe L. Perez, Jr., the local attorney who helped federal prosecutors convict former state District Court Judge Rudy Delgado on bribery charges, was scheduled to be sentenced last Thursday in federal court in McAllen. Perez has pled guilty to one count of bribing Delgado, and faces not more than five years in federal prison and not more than $250,000 in restitution.
Perez’s sentencing, however, has now been re-scheduled to take place Sept. 25, which is the same day that Delgado is scheduled for sentencing after being found guilty in federal court last month on eight counts related to judicial bribery.
Perez is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Alfred H Bennett at 9 a.m.; Delgado at 1:30.
