Will Hillary win?

I notice that this week independent socialist senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont announced he’s considering running for president either as a Democrat or an independent. Leaving aside what that statement means concerning the leftist tilt of the Democrat Party, I wonder what his decision to run would do to Hillary’s chances of success. Clearly Mr. Sanders must believe that the liberal wing of the party is not particularly enamored with Mrs. Clinton. There is also talk about Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren throwing her hat in the ring as a representative of liberalism. Warren’s only problem with the left would seem to be her hawkish defense of Israel and voting to give Netanyahu a couple hundred million dollars worth of military hardware for Iron Dome during the conflict with Gaza. Since the Jewish vote is largely liberal, however, and since Jews tend to back Israel, that strategy is sure to get her votes even if it displeases parts of the party’s peace-oriented liberal wing.
