According to the United States’ Census Bureau population clock there are (as I’m looking at it) 317,822,079 residents in this country. Every eight seconds there is a new birth. Every twelve seconds someone dies. Every thirty-eight seconds an international migrant crosses the border into America. That figures out to a net gain of one person every fifteen seconds. The government’s best estimate is that 40 million of those 317.8 million people do not have health insurance. Enter Obamacare to provide for those 40 million. The pre-Obamacare individual health insurance market in the United States comprised approximately 19 million people.
