Governor Perry has always referred to me as "Tommy". Last week when I spoke with him, however, he addressed me as "Old Timer" when he gave me a hug. You know you're getting up there in age when your name starts developing whiskers. Since, however, I am now officially an old timer, I would like to study the long, historical, view of how race relations have gotten where they now seem to be.
