SANTANA GALVAN
EDINBURG – Santana Galvan, 91, a World War II Veteran, born at San Luis Ranch in Puerto Rico, Tx., died May 16, 2017 at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Gabriel Cormier; parents, Macedonio and Benita Galvan; two brothers, Servando Galvan and Noe Galvan. Santana is survived by his wife, Librada Galvan; seven children, Maria Del Rosario “Challo” (Tim) Cormier, Joel M. (Patricia Ann) Galvan, Priscilla (+Robert) Tijerina, Nora (John) Polanis, Arnoldo (Maricela) Galvan, Rosalinda (Israel) Rodriguez Norberto (Griselda) Galvan; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Antonia Morales, Socorro Reyes; a brother, Hector Galvan. The family would like to thank the staff at Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home and the staff at Gracia Hospice Care for their loving care. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, May 17, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in San Isidro. Interment followed at Longoria-Galvan Cemetery in Puerto Rico, Tx. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
