RICHARD ORTEGA
McALLEN - Richard Ortega, 91, died Sunday, December 30, 2018, at his residence in McAllen.
Born in Huerfano County CO, join the Navy in 1944-1947, Richard enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, flirting, he was a great person and enjoyed helping others.
Richard is survived by his wife, Maria Teresa Ortega of McAllen; two daughters, Debora Ortega and Denisse Ortega, of Illinois; three step-daughters, Yackelin Flores and Johan Jaret Diaz Perez, both of McAllen, and Alma Celeste Santo Diaz of Mexico.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
