SAN JUAN – Primitivo Cardona Bocanegra, 92, went to heaven Friday, October 7, 2016, at his residence in San Juan. Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Primitivo lived in Pharr most of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria De Jesus Bocanegra; two sons, Benito Bocanegra and Alvaro Bocanegra; a grandson, Ricardo Bocanegra; his parents, Otilio and Merenciana Bocanegra. Mr. Bocanegra, is survived by his two daughters, Maria (Gonzalo) Ramirez and Nora (+Mario) Ruiz; daughter-in-law, Alma G. Bocanegra; 11 grandchildren, Maritza (Eli) Martinez, John (Rosie) Ramirez, Gonzalo P. Ramirez, Anthony R. Ramirez, Michael A. Ramirez, Esteban (Cindy) Ruiz, Patricia (+JJ) Vela, Andres M. Ruiz, Sarah Y. Ruiz, Julissa (Mauricio) Perez, Krystle (Victor) Rios; 34 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, October 10, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
