SAN JUAN- Maria Eva Calacuayo, 72, passed away, Friday, February 28, 2014, at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Mexico, Maria Eva had lived in San Juan all of her life. Maria Eva was loved by many and touched so many hearts. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucas and Viviana Aleman. Mrs. Calacuayo is survived by five children, Vicente (Erica) Calacuayo, Rene (Joann) Calacuayo, Sandra (Pablo) Munoz, all of San Juan, Hipolito (Martha) Calacuayo, Jr., of Mission, Marcos Antonio (Jessica) Calacuayo, of Alamo; 17 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, March 2, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. March 3, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
