MARIA DE JESUS DE LEON

SAN JUAN – Maria De Jesus De Leon, 80, died Thursday, April 6, 2017, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mexico, she had lived in San Juan since 1956 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. She is preceded in death by her husband, Israel De Leon; two brothers, Erasmo Cantu, Guadalupe Cantu; and a sister, Maria Del Refugio Cantu. Mrs. De Leon is survived by four children, Dora Elia (Gregorio) Gonzalez, Narcedalia De Leon, Rolando (Graciela) De Leon, Armando (Delia) De Leon, all of San Juan; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Maximina Tijerina, Matilde Rios, Cruz Cantu, Conrado Cantu, Otoniel Cantu, Lidia Gonzalez. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Saturday, April 8, 2017 and from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
