JUDITH JEAN TANGUMA
DONNA – Judith Jean Tanguma, 71, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Saturday, November 12, 2016, at her residence in Donna. Judith was born in Binghamton, New York and lived in Donna for 49 years. She was a teacher for Donna ISD for over 30 years until she retired. Her greatest joy was attending all of her grandchildren’s many events. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Irene Kersting; a brother, Raymond Kersting, a daughter, Laura Tanguma; and her in-laws, Vicente and Dolores Tanguma. Judith is survived by her husband, Jose De La Rosa Tanguma; five children, Diana (Israel Muñoz) Montano of Donna, Melissa Tanguma and Debra (Joe) Gongora, both of Waco, Leonel Tanguma and Linda Tanguma, both of Donna; seven grandchildren, Aaron Muñoz, Katarina Muñoz, Cristian Muñoz, Delilah Gongora, Elijah Gongora, Josiah Gongora, Maliah Gongora; and a brother, Howard Lainhart of Florida. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, November 14, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Cremation took place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
