JUANA GUZMAN DE MORALES
PHARR – Juan Guzman De Morales, 89, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in San Luis de la Paz, GTO, Mexico, Juana had lived in Pharr most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tomas Morales; a daughter, Mary Joe; two grandchildren, Sandra Dee Joe and Richard Luis Avelar. Juana is survived by a daughter, Maria Morales Mendez; eight grandchildren, Martha Mendez (Michael Sandoval), Maria L. Mendez Tozzi, Francisca Mendez Ward, Jose (Terry) Morales, Bobby Joe (Monica) Avelar, Edward Thomas Avelar, Roger Wayne (Erika) Avelar, Arvin (Reyna) Jake; 24 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat- grandchildren; a son-in-law, Jacob Joe; and a brother-in-law, Faustino Morales. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, May 8, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
