JOSE GUADALUPE CHAMPION
SAN JUAN - Jose Guadalupe Champion, 87, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
He is preceded in death by his two daughters, Bertha Champion and Sandra Champion; his parents, Cleto and Dolores Champion; and a sister Delia Gongora.
Mr. Champion is survived by his wife, Maria Brijida Champion of San Juan; two children, Ruben (Rosy Chairez) Champion of San Juan, Emma Champion of Alamo; five grandchildren, Ruben Champion, Jr. of Edinburg, Veronica Lares of Belton, TX, Aaron Champion of Mathis, TX, Jose R. Ramos, Jr. of Waco, TX, Ricardo Champion of McAllen; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 12 noon, Friday, November 30, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Military honors were conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
