JESUS “CHUY” BUSTAMANTE
SAN JUAN – Jesus “Chuy” Bustamante, 86, was called home to Heaven on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Premont Rehab and Nursing Center. Mr. Bustamante was born November 9, 1929 in Pharr and was a long-time resident of San Juan. Chuy had a passion for helping others through his carpentry skills and for serving God at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. He will always be remembered for his generosity, devotion to family, sense of humor, and his faith. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ninfa R. Ramirez Bustamante; his parents, Jesus Iglesias Bustamante and Josefa Rivera Bustamante; two sisters, Delia B. Garcia and Elisa “Olga” Bustamante Brown; a brother, Eduardo Bustamante. Jesus is survived by his son, Erasmo “Eddie” (Martha) Garcia of San Juan; three grandchildren, Claudia Garcia, Nicolas Garcia, Alexandria Garcia; and numerous nieces, nephews that loved his humor, laughter, sarcasm and teasing. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, Nov. 3, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment followed at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
