EPIFANIA F. OLMOS

EDINBURG – Today we rejoice in knowing that our mother, Epifania “Pifi” Franco Olmos, has gone back home to be with her Heavenly Father Jesus Christ. He holds her in his loving arms and embraces her with His love, at the tender age of 86. She died peacefully, surrounded by her family at Edinburg Medical Center. She was born on January 25, 1931 in Houston, Texas, to Juan and Aurelia Franco. Mother was a loving, strong and passionate woman in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, who loved praying for her family and others. She lived most of her life in Houston until she moved to Edinburg in the 80’s. She was the dedicated matriarch of her family who held everyone together. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Reyes Olmos, Sr.; a daughter, Elena Olmos Garcia; a son-in-law, Noie Hesbrook, Jr. Epifania is survived by her brother, Andres Franco; a son, Jose Reyes (Rosemary) Olmos, Jr. of Houston; four daughters, Esmeralda (Guadalupe) Gonzalez, Esther (Richard) Trigo both of Houston, Estela (+Noie) Hesbrook of Edinburg, Eva (Norman) Gross of Baltimore, Md.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Juan Javier Flores, Adam Gonzalez, Noie Hesbrook III, Jose R. Olmos, Jr., Guadalupe Gonzalez and Richard Trigo. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons and great-great grandsons. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 9, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m., Friday, March 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg, Father Chris officiated. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Edinburg.
