ELIDA C. PALACIOS

PHARR - On Friday, April 21, 2017, God called His daughter, Elida “Lela” Palacios home. Lela was a humble woman dedicated to God, her husband and her family. She lived most of her life in Pharr, Texas where she attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. There she served the Lord through the ministry of Las Damas del Altar. In her later years, she moved to San Juan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eliodoro “Lolo” Palacios; and five of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Maribel (Juan) Ramones; a brother, Jose (Virginia) Chavez; three grandchildren, Juan Andres (Jennifer) Ramones, Sara Ramones, Joanna (Christian) Guillen; three great-granddaughters, Evelyn, Starlee, Esmeralda; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A rosary was held Monday, April 24, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan, Texas. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. The family would like to give special thanks to San Juan Nursing Home, Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility and Rio Grande Regional Hospital for the excellent care they provided. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
