EDILIA SANDOVAL MORIN
PHARR – Edilia Sandoval Morin, 87, died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Alice, TX, Mrs. Morin had lived in Pharr most of her life. Edilia was a very active and excellent cook. She enjoyed preparing all kinds of meals for her family, as well as watching novelas and soap operas. Most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Edilia will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Amadeo Morin; a son, Efrain “Frank” Morin; her parents, Servando and Adelina Sandoval; three grandchildren, Amadeo “Andy” Morin, Ricky Flores, Mandy Bravo; five brothers, Heriberto Sandoval, Fernando Sandoval, Ruben Sandoval, Jesus “Chuy” Sandoval, Servando Sandoval, Jr. Edilia is survived by two sons, Raul (Sulema) Morin of Ontario, OR and Armando (Twana) Morin of Payette, ID; five daughters, Eliza (Heriberto) Serrano of Alamo, Adela (Alejandro) Carbajal of Caldwell, ID, Noelia (Eduardo) Mercado of San Juan, Ninfa Morin (Rod Pistotkoache) of San Antonio, TX, Minerva (Oscar) Barbosa of Alamo; 32 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Olga Vargas and Edelia Guerra, both of Pharr. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. rosary Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. The family would like to give special thanks to Michael Contreras, Ashley Wideking, Gabby Martinez, Janie Cardenas, Beatrice Valdez, and all of the staff at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation for the care they gave to their mother. The family gives all their greatest gratitude. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
