ALAMO – Dominga “Minga” Soto, 69, died Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg. Born in Donna, she had lived in Alamo most of her life and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esteban Soto; her parents, Margarito and Lydia Ramirez; an aunt, Juanita Salinas and her father in law, Santiago Morales. Minga is survived by four children, Javier Esteban (Erika Munoz) Soto of Weslaco, Veronica Soto of Edinburg, Melissa Ann (Francisco Zavala) Soto of Alamo, Robert (Jessica Liscano) Soto of Pharr; eight grandchildren, Brittany Rae Gomez, Luis Gomez Jr., Makayla McCall Soto, Crystina Velez, Edrick Jay Cantu, Cerayah Liscano, Brooklyn Skye Soto, Kai Jakobee Cantu; her faithful companion, Michela; and four siblings, Pauline Torres, Lico Ramirez, Santos Ramirez, Ramiro Ramirez, all of Donna. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, Sept. 11, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
