PHARR – Criselia “Lucy” Balli, 77, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at her residence in Pharr. Born on February 12, 1937 in Rio Grande City, she had lived in Pharr most of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfredo Gonzalez and Juanita Rivera. Mrs. Balli is survived by her husband of 59 years, Humberto Balli of Pharr; one son, David (Blanca) Balli of San Antonio, TX; two daughters, Aida (Joe) Galindo of San Antonio, TX and Leticia (Ramiro) Cantu of McAllen; six grandchildren, Lanay, Brianna, Rene Balli, Laura and Daniel Galindo, all of San Antonio, and Roxanna Cantu of McAllen; one great-grandson, Roen Mesa of McAllen; two nephews; and a brother in law. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice Staff, Dr. Marvin Tavarez, Dr. Hiram Tavarez, Dr. Tommy Yee, Dr. K.V. Chowdary, and her caregivers. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, at La Trinidad Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to La Trinidad Methodist Church in Pharr or Alzheimer’s Research Association. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
