Gilbert E. Espinoza, Sr. 71, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Pharr, he had lived there all of his life. Mr. Espinoza was employed by Burns Motors for 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Angelica Espinoza; one sister; and in-laws, Eusebio and Guadalupe S. Benavidez. Mr. Espinoza is survived by his wife of 46 years, Alma “Mina” B. Espinoza of Pharr; two children, Gilbert Espinoza, Jr. and Illeana E. (Roy, Jr.) Rivera both of Pharr; three grandchildren, Gilbert Espinoza III, Jacob Espinoza, and Isaiah R. Rivera; four brothers; and three sisters. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 18, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
