ALAMO – Maria Luisa Garcia, 79, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico, she had lived in Alamo since 1965. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Orlando Garcia. Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Garcia of Alamo; four children, Ricardo Garcia of Goodyear, AZ, Delia Martinez, Gina Garcia and Reynaldo Garcia, Jr., all of Alamo; and 12 grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, July 16, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
