BALDEMAR P. MARTINEZ

PHARR - Baldemar P. Martinez, 83, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Martinez was born in San Benito on December 14, 1934 to Petra Perez Martinez and Quirino Martinez. He grew up in Alamo and lived his married life in Pharr. Baldemar was manager for Coastal Marts, Inc. and WIC Stores, Inc. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pharr, and enjoyed songwriting, playing music, camping, hiking, swimming, and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Petra Perez Martinez and Quirino Martinez; and two siblings, Guadalupe De La Rosa and Virginia Reyna.
Baldemar is survived by his wife, Elvira Perez Martinez; a son, Moises Martinez; a daughter, Cris Martinez; five grandchildren, Corina Trevino, Carina Trevino, Jeanette Rodriguez, April Martinez, Aaron Martinez; two siblings, Carlota Martinez and Moises Martinez.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
