Pharr strikes down request

PHARR -- Why would the folks who manage American Electric Power (AEP), which delivers electricity to more than five million customers in 11 states, believe that people who will soon live in a relatively high-rent new apartment complex in Pharr, Jackson Place Apartments, want to gaze to the south and instead of seeing the field spotted with sunflowers, instead see some massive relatively ugly electric power transmission substation?
We’ve all seen them. Like something out of a Frankenstein movie, with wires, towers, generators everywhere, all encased in a fence topped with barbed wire. Pity the poor skydiver who accidentally lands in one – buzzzzz.
