RAMON “MONIE” GOMEZ

McALLEN – Ramon “Monie” Gomez, 33, died Friday, January 6, 2017, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Nampa, Idaho, he resided in the San Juan / McAllen area most of his life. Ramon was a graduate of PSJA High School and attended South Texas College. He was preceded in death by a brother, Noe Ramiro Gomez; paternal grandparents, Anita and Ignacio Gomez; maternal grandparents, Ines and Rodrigo Rodriguez; six uncles; and a cousin, David Butler. Mr. Gomez is survived by his parents, Maria “Lupita” and Heriberto Gomez of McAllen; a brother, Ernesto (Vanessa) Gomez of Chicago; numerous cousins. Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service conducted by Pastor Shannon Talley Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
