JERRY LEE BOOHER

SAN JUAN - It is with great sadness I announce that on January 5, 2017, my friend Jerry Lee Booher was called home peacefully at the McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, TX from complications of heart disease. Born May 14, 1946 in Springfield, Ohio to John and Reba Booher, Jerry was a great friend and blessing to many of us in his journey through life. He was a proud member of our military (Army- Special Forces-Green Beret) that loved life and his country. Throughout his eventful life he was an inventor, machinist, tool maker, salesman and man of many ideas. After the military, Jerry traveled and worked in Ohio, Tennessee and landed here in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to spend his remaining days retired and having fun. He lived a very happy life with his dog "Missie" and many friends he made here in South Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Nanci; and two grandsons, Ryan and Lucas. Jerry was a very private man, and he kept the seriousness of his illness and many of the demons he fought daily from most people, even his family. As per his request there will be no services. Cremation took place Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg and his ashes will be divided between his daughter Nanci Booher and myself. His constant companion Missie will become part of our family and live out her life loved and cared for in our home. To those of you who knew Jerry, you knew a really good man. To those of you who never met him, you would've loved him. We're going to miss you, Jerry. I'm going to miss you. God Bless and God Speed buddy!!!
